When to See a Pain Management Doctor

When to See a Pain Management Doctor
Migraine headaches are often undiagnosed and untreated. If you regularly experience signs and symptoms of migraine attacks, keep a record of your attacks and how you treated them. Then make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your headaches and decide on a treatment plan. Even if you have a history of headaches, see your doctor if the pattern changes or your headaches suddenly feel different.

Medications can help reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. If treatment hasn't worked for you in the past, talk to your pain mangement doctor about trying different migraine treatment including invasive procedures to relieve the pain or even undergo required surgery.

See your doctor immediately or go to the emergency room if you have any of the following signs and symptoms, which may indicate other, more serious medical problems: An abrupt, severe headache like a thunderclap. Headache with fever, stiff neck, rash, mental confusion, seizures, double vision, weakness, numbness or trouble speaking. Headache after a head injury, especially if the headache gets worse. A chronic headache that is worse after coughing, exertion, straining

My mom is having a lot of migraines lately and I have been wondering if we should take her in to get help for them. That is a good idea to record the migraines and how we treated them, then go in and see a doctor about them. Thank you for the information!

I had no idea that there are doctors who specialize in providing pain relief and treating its source. My boss is having a hard time working lately because of his migraine episodes. Maybe it's time that he visits a pain management doctor for help.

Thanks for helping me understand that medications can help reduce the frequency of the pain you might feel due to migraines. With that in mind, it would help if my sister sees a professional get the pain treatment she needs due to that condition. She has been experiencing that for the past months, so she should really see a professional instead.

It's great to know that there are also medications that can reduce migraine frequency and severity. I definitely want to get a recommendation and prescription from a pain management doctor regarding that if I really have my. Because i have been experiencing headaches on the right side of my head up to my right eye whenever I sleep on the wrong side and when I am a little bit sleep-deprived.
